From CGU and Norwich Union to Aviva
My first big brand identity project, I most enjoyed working with the brilliant team at Corporate Edge, on the development of the name and the long term strategy for the transition from CGU and Norwich Union to Aviva, and working out then the practical transition planning to take the two separate UK companies (and their various subsidiaries world-wide with numerous iterations of their identities) and bring them together into one entity that would then transition again after a few years into Aviva. There were many logistical hoops to jump through and consideration of legacy systems worldwide to incorporate into the plans. I also loved commissioning the huge bespoke signage for the Aviva building at St Helen's in the City – the installation day was so exciting I didn’t even mind that it was a Sunday morning at 6am.
